“Hora Feliz”

Hello!
How’s it all going ?:)  Well today is p-day!  Hermana Araneda already left to go to the mtc and now I am chilling with the two other hermanas who are here in Ushuaia but in another branch! Hermana Fish and Hermana Rassmussen!  It’s pretty crazy being with 3 gringas but it’s fun too. Hermana Fish has been my best friend for the entire mission and she’s really good at making me laugh.  I don’t think I’ve laughed that much in a very long time!!

So we’ve been walking all over Ushuia trying to figure out how to work in two areas.  But at least we are super busy!  We were able to teach a lot of lessons.  This week we have been working a lot with Jainen, and it turns out it’s not going to be easy to get to her to the font, but all is possible.  She has a lot of mixed ideas about God and is not sure if she wants to change them, but she recognizes the spirit everytime we go.  I’m not going to give up on her!  I love her a lot and hope to help here lead a healthy, happy, successful life, aka the gospel.

We have also been working with one of our investigators Macarena.  She finally said the prayer at the end of the lesson and read her reading assignment!  It was great.  She and Jainen have a really complicated history with the church and I think that’s one of the things that keeps them from progressing as fast as they could without these experiences.  However, Macarena is progressing little by little.  I love that she asks good questions and looks for the truth.  The only problem is that she wants to know the truth without the will to follow that which is true… it’s a little complicated.  I love her, I hope that as she reads and prays she will be able to feel the Lord’s love for her and the desire to be obedient.

This week we were able to participate in lot’s of activities.  We did a world-wide service activity with the helping hands.  We helped fixed up an old folks home!  It’s so funny because while they are working some of the hermanas walk around with their “Mate” and thermoses to serve “mate” (The drink, which contains caffeine, is made by an infusion of dried leaves of yerba mate) to all the workers…. Argentina! haha.

I hope you are all doing great! Love you all a bunch. Keep up the good work and take care of yourselves!!

Love always,

Hermana Carter
